Hi, I’m Barbara Leigh Naydeck, MPH.
This isn’t just a business —it’s a reflection of what I believe in. I’m here to help improve population health, one analytic project at a time. I’m here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality work and quality healthcare.
I have over 15 years as an academic researcher in Successful Aging. My curriculum vitae provides assurance of high-quality statistical design and model building work.
I left academia to work in health insurance. I published the first-ever model of return on investment from a health insurer’s employer wellness programs.
I helped establish pricing for the Affordable Care Act in Texas in 2014, as the Marketplace initially rolled out.
I created a model for a reinsurer (stop loss), predicting higher profitability for specific segments of their business.
I created a model predicting diabetes in At-Risk Texas Youth for the Texas Department of Public Health, Center for Health Statistics.
Most recently, I improved the quality scores for a Texas health insurer, simply by improving the SQL’s and stored procedures. I then went on to implement the AHRQ quality metrics for timely estimation and taught the Information Technology team how to use SAS to maintain the AHRQ coding (SAS coding they supply).
What can I do to help your business?
My Approach
What began as an academic pursuit evolved into making a difference in the real world of health care and healthcare insurance. I’m proud of where I’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets my work apart is that I use a process to develop models, testing for validity and quality all along with way. You can purchase apps that allow you to throw all elements into a “model” and obtain a result. I won’t do that with your ideas. I develop, test, obtain your feedback and work until it is as good a product as we can make it within timelines. My interest in improving population health is a serious commitment and my curiosity about how to improve it has driven groundbreaking results. I will take time to understand, explore, and create your analysis with the same serious purpose.
Simple ideas
Through every step, I focus on staying true to the values of improving Access and Patient Satisfaction while reducing System Costs.
Lasting impact
I build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
